Waseca Community Build...

. . . . Children's Community Build . . . .

"Giving children the opportunity to participate in
community involvement"

This week I had a wonderful time at Waseca Public Library giving children the opportunity to build up a community of their own.  I was very surprised to have many families and children come during story time.  About 30 children participated in three different builds this week.  I am very thankful to have such a wonderful community of my own, giving me the opportunity to reach out to others.

Thanks again Waseca Library for all your support!

This past week, I had an amazing time in the Morris community.  I was able to bring in three different community builds into the library, daycares and classrooms.  I also had fun branching out into businesses down main street, promoting a fundraiser for our scholarship money. The community of Morris always makes me feel at home and I always enjoy my time in town.

Thanks to the Morris Committee for all their support throughout all my activities.  I cant wait to continue my efforts in bringing Community Builds to classrooms all around Minnesota!

Community Build with the 3 year old classroom....

. . . . 3year old Classroom . . . .
Owatonna, MN

This afternoon, I had lots of fun building up a community with the 3 year old classroom at Good Shepard Church in Owatonna.  They inspired me in many ways and were so happy to get into the activity.  Its amazing to believe that 3 year olds can build up a mini community in their classroom.  Sometimes as teachers, we over look the impact the younger generations can have on our community.  I had so much fun today and I give a big thanks to the Good Shepard Church for inviting me into their school.

They really enjoyed learning about Habitat and building up their own mini community and houses. Tomorrow, I will be working with the toddlers and am so excited to bring community opportunities to the little ones in the neighborhoods.

The State Capital....

Building up the Community at the Capital...

Yesterday, we had an amazing time touring the State Capital after volunteering at the Children's Hospital.  We had fun going on an adventure to find the Governor's office and taking lots of pictures.  It happened to be the Girl Scouts cookie celebration at the capital.  The girls thought it was a treat to have a princess walking around at their event.  We had fun taking pictures and talking about Girl Scouts!

Building up a Community with Children's Miracle Network!

This weekend, I had a wonderful opportunity to bring a community build into the Children's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Habitat for Humanity and Children's Miracle Network both bring foundations for success for many families around the world. I was so happy to be apart of this experience and watch these children and families build up homes and a community within the hospital. We had about 7-8 families join us in the build. They had lots of fun sharing stories, laughing and learning about Habitat!

Thanks to all the Hospital staff for this experience!

Buildinig up Foundations...

for success in our community!

Habitat for Humanity is an organization that builds up communities around the world. As an educator, its my job to help build up our future generations for success in the classroom. Like Habitat, I hope to bring community builds into as many classrooms, children's hospitals and libraries around the world as possible.  By giving the children, the opportunity to make a difference in the small things, as they grow they will make a difference in much more.  Lets put the tools into their hands and help them grow into dedicated and strong community members.
