One lap will be two miles long and it will be a free-will donation event, benefiting Habitat for Humanity Steele-Waseca.  All participants will receive a plastic hardhat for event and you may receive a t-shirt with a $20 donation. Children's activities, treats and refreshments will follow event!

Children's Community Build....

How can we build up this community?

 Look at what we built!!

This past week, I brought a community experience to the pre-scholars at Wee Pals Center in Owatonna. The children were very surprised to see a princess in their classroom after breakfast.  The all had wide eyes and were so excited to hear my stories and share with them about being a princess. The children then had the opportunity to build up their own home for their classroom community. It was so incredible to see what an impact these young children can make in their own community. Sometimes we take for granted the younger generations ability to change the world around them.

Thanks again to Wee Pals for this opportunity!

This past weekend, I had a wonderful time in the Morris community.  It was a great time going into the classrooms and bringing them community opportunities.  The students seem to enjoy the activities and were very excited about having a princess in their classroom.  I have been blessed to have such wonderful teachers give me these opportunities and am thankful for their time in the classroom!

Thanks to my outstanding committee for all their help this weekend!

Morris is always such a welcoming community!

Senior Community Build....

Building Habitats for Our Community!

"Bird house painting"

This afternoon, my mom and I had a great time at the Senior Community Center painting bird houses.  This past summer we had children in the community, build over 30 bird houses.  I thought it would be a great opportunity for the seniors to have an experience building up their community as well.  I had the seniors paint the bird houses donated by Habitat for Humanity Re-Store in Owatonna.  We had a great time decorating and designing the homes.  The bird houses will be donated to the Parks in town and also to Habitat home owners in Steele-Waseca County.  I was happy to involve both the youth and seniors in this community build and can't wait to see the bird houses in our parks around town.

Thanks to the Senior Center for this opportunity!

. . . . Putting our FAITH into ACTION . . . .

~ Sunday School Community Build ~
Owatonna, MN

The past two weeks, I had a great opportunity to bring community activities to the children at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Owatonna.  I was able to teach five different grade levels about becoming a community builder and the impact Habitat for Humanity has had in their community.  I integrated a bible study into our community build, putting our faith into action.  We talked about the impact Jesus had on his people and how we can be active community members, building up our own community and making a difference.  My faith has helped shape me into the teacher I am today and was very honored to have the opportunity to bring community involvement into the Sunday school classrooms.  Its outstanding to see children look up to Jesus as a role-model and portraying Christ like characteristics. I was very happy and joyful to see this experience be such a success for the children.

Thanks to Our Saviors Lutheran Church for this opportunity
and for giving the children the opportunity to put their faith into action!

God Bless!
