Teaching in Texas!

The last two weeks I have been student teaching social studies and language arts in my 3rd grade classroom in Houston, Texas.  This experience has been wonderful and my students are so much fun.  I have been learning so much throughout this experience relating to everyday life.  As a teacher, I have taught many students on different levels of the educational ladder and from different family backgrounds.  In order for our students and children to succeed in school we need to make sure that their needs are met before they can achieve.  Lets make an effort as teachers, parents and careproviders to make sure our children are getting a good night sleep, healthy foods and all the love they need to help them succeed!

Helping each other build up foundations for success, Pay it Forward!  :)

Have a wonderful week!!!! God Bless

What do you want to be when you grow up?..... Celebrating Labor Day!

Giving thanks to everyone who works so hard to support their family and friends! Students celebrated this week by creating pictures of what they want to be when they grew up.  Just remember in everything you do, that you are a role model to someone... at home, church, classroom, the grocery store and even at work... people look up to us everyday, make sure to be a good role model to others :)  Happy Labor Day Weekend!!

Galveston, Texas

Over the last several years... the coast of Texas has been impacted by many hurricanes and natural disasters. This last weekend I had the opportunity to tour around Galveston, a beach about 40 min from Houston.  I was shocked my how many homes  and schools that still need to be re-built.  I hope to get help down there through Habitat for Humanity and the local school systems to see what we can do to help...

If anyone would like to help out please contact me at my email!

Thanks for your support :)

Johnson Elementary School in Texas...

Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity to read to students at Johnson Elementary School in Texas.  Through out the day, I read to over 150 students during library time, the book "The one, The only, Magnificent Me" by Joel Tanis. The students loved listening to this story and afterword had the chance to create their own drawing, showing why there were magnificent... the drawings turned out beautiful and I even created a book for the school's library with the drawings.  This helped the students create a building block for a success... showing them their special talents they can be proud of!

Commons Nursing Home in Owatonna!

(Mon Aug 9th) This afternoon my family and I had a wonderful time hanging out at the nursing home in  my hometown, Owatonna.  We got the chance to have coffee with my Grandma Sands and eat ice cream with the residence.  It was my good friend, Laura's birthday as well and we all sang her happy birthday.  I shared with them about some of my adventures and activities we did through out pageant week.  I had so much fun and I hope to make it back to visit in the near future! thanks for everything :)
