Building up with Kindergarten...

This afternoon, I had a wonderful time with three kindergarten classrooms in Waseca doing Children's Community Builds.  I just love entering the younger grade leveled classrooms and seeing the amazing looks on the students faces.  They are so eager to learn about everything and have the ambition to get involved in activities.  That students had a blast building up their homes for their classroom community.  Tomorrow, I will be in four more classrooms and cant wait to share more about Habitat for Humanity and our community!

Northfield Community Build...

Children's Community Build

This afternoon, I had an amazing time at the Norhfield Library building up a community during story time.  We had many children and families build homes together and were all very interested in hearing more about Habitat for Humanity.  I had a good time sharing stories with families about the Habitat homes I have helped build around the world.  It is always so amazing to see how a community can come together and educate their children and families about the importance of having a safe and health home.

Volunteer Celebration in Owatonna!

~ Habitat for Humanity ~

Last Sunday, Habitat for Humanity and I celebrated our community involvement at Good Shepard Church in Owatonna.  We had lots of fun reaching out to the community and creating awareness for Habitat.  I was happy to reach out to multiple teachers and classrooms about my Community Challenge.  Many seemed very interested and I hope to start establishing my community curriculum with local schools and classrooms within the Minnesota area.  "Raising the Roof, Building up our community in the classroom", gives students the opportunity and responsibility of being a community member.  While working with Habitat for Humanity, I have seen the impact that one house can make on a whole neighborhood.  Being involved in our community is an important element in our students education today.

IHOP National Pancake Day!

Thanks for celebrating National Pancake Day with IHOP on March 1st. We had a great time serving guests millions of free pancakes and we are so thankful for the generosity of our guests in leaving behind donations for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

"Recycle and Reuse"

Activities and projects in the classroom and at home can be created using many recycled materials.  You can use milk cartons to build mini homes creating a community, old CDs can be used as wind chimes and paper towel tubes as binaculars.  Be an explorer in your community and see what you can make out of recycled materials! Morris Events...

 Morris Gymnastics Team!

This past weekend, I had a great time hanging out with my wonderful directors and getting out into the Morris community.  We had a fun time celebrating that afternoon with family and friends for LeRoy's Retirement party! Eating lots of good food and getting the best hospitality ever! That evening, I had so much fun at the Morris Gymnastic 6A Cchampionship, passing out metals and trophies and celebrating with the teams.  Thanks to my friend and runner up Kacy for this opportunity!

Morris is such a welcoming community and I am so happy to be apart of it every time I come to visit!
